I will admit, I have a Google+ account and have probably used the platform once. The “social networking” site is the butt of many jokes, since it seems that most people are like me, they have an account but don’t really see the point or benefit in using it. We still live in a time where social media is completely dominated by Facebook and Twitter, with other offerings like Tumblr and Pinterest gaining popularity due to their somewhat unique approaches to sharing items and pictures. So, what does Google+ offer me that I can’t get anywhere else?
Hangouts, their group video service is great, but since very few of my friends or acquaintances use Google+ I can really utilize it. The idea that I can easily share information to particular groups of people is also a benefit that is only beneficial to a heavy user with many friends. The potential for Google+ remains to be seen. But rummaging about the inter-webs I stumbled upon another great infographic that tries to explain the many unforeseen and underutilized benefits of the Google+ network. The infographic argues that the business side has the most to gain from the platform. The platforms intimate collaboration with Google is a huge advantage in and of itself. Take a look:
